Dear Friends,

I had promised to lurk but several queries prompt me to post. I've
been asked about the response to my summary: Several people have sent me
posts stating their appreciation for a moment of levity in an often strident
debate. Thank you, I was surprised and flattered. However, I don't think
I'll quit my day job just yet.

More importantly, questions have arisen concerning the intent and
accuracy of the "White women...oppression" statement. I think I've addressed
the intent. As for accuracy, Sherwin Hicks is quite correct, he referred to
rascism not oppression. I stand corrected. However, I think that misses the
point. For anyone else who wishes to question my logic or accuracy in the
summary, let me say that as a attempt at satire the summary should be taken
as "apocryphal, if not wildly inaccurate."
