Wow, Hugh,

You're probably right about having had enough on AA policy for the time,
but I find it hard to see any anthropological discussion as not political
in some sense. The views on the course on sex or on post modernism, eg,
are all founded in political opinion. To be jargony, whatever we
write--and whatever research we do--is framed within and in opposition to
prevailing hegemonies. How can we be unpolitical or non-political? So I'm
a little unclear on where the line is, and on which topics of discussion it
should be invoked. I'll look on quizzically to see if I can deduce it.
