Mimesis and Alterity

Last year, when I was looking for readings for my seminar on "The Making
and Meaning of Advertising," someone recommended _Mimesis and Alterity_
by Michael Taussig. Having read it once, I find myself intrigued, frustrated,
confused--all, I believe, entirely appropriate responses to a text which
deliberately refuses to offer coherent answers to the questions it raises
on the grounds that coherent answers are necessarily ideological and
ipso facto inadequate. Still I enjoy the book and will read it again.
Would anyone out there like to join me in an effort to grasp and/or
deconstruct it?
