If anyone is interested the anthropology club at University of
California, San Diego (UCSD) will be hosting a lecture by Carneiro on
MAy 16th at 7:00 PM. Carneiro's lecture will be "The Evolutionary
Perspectives on Chiefdoms and States. The lecture is free and open
to the public, however, UCSD will charge you $3 for parking.

Directions:
UCSD is at 9500 Gilman Drive, San Diego, Ca.
>From I-5 (North or South) take the La Jolla Village Drive exit and
head west. The road will turn north and the name will change to North
Torrey Pines Road. Turn left at Muir College Drive (There will be a
stoplight at the intersection). Go to the second parking lot on the
right. You may purchase a parking permit from the booth in the center
of the lot. Ask the attendant for directions to PETERSON HALL. The
lecture will be in Peterson Hall Room 108.
