** MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT: Midwest Forensic Anthropology Group **

(Please distribute to your colleagues and students)

The first meeting of the Midwest Forensic Anthropology Group (tentative title)
will take place Friday Sept. 30 to Sunday Oct. 2, 1994, at the State Historical
Society on the campus of the University of Wisconsin at Madison. The local
sponsor is Dr. Leslie Eisenberg (Burial Sites Preservation Program Coordinator),
with additional arrangements by Dr. Stephen Nawrocki (University of
Indianapolis). The goal is to provide an informal forum for human osteologists,
forensic anthropologists, and bioarcheologists to present cases, current
research, and methodological advances in the fields of skeletal biology,
although individuals from other closely related areas (odontology, pathology,
zooarcheology) are welcome. No formal abstracts or applications are necessary.
There is no registration fee. Students and spouses are encouraged to attend.

On-campus housing has been reserved and is available at $38/night (single) and
$44/night (double), including parking and breakfast. Non-smoking rooms can be
requested. Reservation information will be provided on request by Dr.
Eisenberg, although individuals will have to make their own reservations.

Tentative Schedule:

Friday afternoon/evening: presentations & discussion
Saturday (all day): presentations & discussion
Sunday morning: business meeting

Please send a note to Drs. Eisenberg or Nawrocki indicating your desire to
attend, probable arrival day, number of individuals in your group, and possible
presentation and discussion items. This announcement will be posted again.
