On the 7th March 1995 Conrad Steenkamp, who is a PhD student in the
Department of Social Anthropology at the University of the
Witwatersrand read a copy of the declaration on the Human Genome
Project which I had printed out and hung up on our notice board in
the department. He wanted to respond to the declaration and used my
mail address to do so, as he is not yet linked up. Due to a
misunderstanding he sent the message without adding his name, which
meant that it was sent under my name and signature.
The message sent therefore does not reflect my opinions and are
authored by Conrad Steenkamp.
I apologise for any inconvenience created thereby.
If you wish to respond to Conrad's response directly, you may use my
mail address for the time being.
