The following article may be of interest to some of you:
"Trouble in the Land of Muy Verde" by Alex Shoumatoff,
_Outside_ Magazine, March 1995, page 56.
Written for a general audience, the article gives some insight
into present conflicts faced both by the Tarahumara Indians and
by the rich wilderness of Mexico's Sierra Madre Mtns due to
encroachment of loggers and drug lords.
The author also wrote the books: The World is Burning, Murder in
the Rainforest, In Southern Light, The Rivers Amazon, and others.
