Ran across a very useful and stimulating paper by Phil Agre, called
Networking on the Network. It gives useful advice on how to network
(oh that horrible word... ;-) ) in a low-key yet highly systematic
and rewarding way. Along the line it gives very intelligent advice
on how to use eletronic mail and bulletin boards in a productive
manner. I highly recommend people get a copy and at least skim it
over. If we all followed it, anthro-l would be a highly stimulating
list indeed (even *more* than it already is... ;-) ).

Phil Agre is in the Communications Department at UC San Diego, and
appears well-versed in his trade!

To get a copy, send a message to rre-request@weber.ucsd.edu with the
subject line of "archive send network". No text is necessary in the
message, just that subject line (without the quotes).

Happy reading all!

Cheers,
Hugh
