A bit of levity to lighten the gloom for any other Antipodeans also buried
in marking:

Who says statistics are dispassionate? - a colleague reported yesterday
that one of her students calculated a LAMBADA value of 0.67. Does this
indicate a strong relationship between the two variables? (Reminds me of
the famous negatively SCREWED distribution.....)

>From our own discipline, a student informed me that there are 3 major types
of exchange: reciprocity, RETRIBUTION and market exchange. Actually, this
may be an apposite term for the PNG highlands ;-).

Bow Wow,
Maddog.
