Subj: Photo Recognition
The realistic pictures you are talking about are extremely large,
while the photographs are probably very small, 35 mm aren't they?
The individuals you are referring to are not used to seeing small
pictures, or pictures in books, or a lot of small printed detail.
All this is compLetely foreign to them. I would also like to
mention that we teach our children to recognize family members in
photographs. In most families I know parents show pictures of
close relatives to their babies:"look this is Daddy, see Daddy? ---
that's GranDma, look at uncle Jack" Then we are very proud when
the baby recognizes the picture and tells us who this is. We also
show the baby his/her picture and are delighted when the baby makes
the connection.
