A veritable potpourri of commentary

Um, excuse me, but isn't this the ANTHRO-L list?!?!?!?!?!?

Seriously folks, I've found Mr. Foss and Mr. Johnson very
entertaining in their own way, but aren't there plenty of other
things to talk about, like our recent discussions on Bosnia (where
were you on that one, Mr. Johnson?) and Disney, both of which were
quite stimulating? I was also hoping a few more folks would chime in
with best books, esp. now that I'm starting to do preliminary reading
for the fall. If anyone has a "classic" or two to recommend, I'd
love to hear about it!!!

Also, I thought Danny Yee's book review was good (if too brief).
This sounds like something I should read before fall as well; any
other suggestions/reviews out there????

Finally, over on TIBET-L there's a discussion of the impact of
Chinese politics and conceptions of history on the PRC's treatment of
Tibet. Does anyone have any reading suggestions on the confluence of
Chinese politics and history regarding this matter, esp. good
ethnography???
