Issues of guilt or innocence may not be a focus of Simpson's defense strategy
but the people outside that I've seen on the news do deal very openly with
the issue. The signs I've seen and interviews I've heard proclaim on his
innocence and declare even the fact of his arrest illegitimate (he's been
framed).

This suggests that for the non-lawyers among us, blame does focus on the
question of guilt of an individual rather than just the demonstration of
likelihood through circumstantial evidence.
