What now to call primitives

Seems to me that what made the word "primitive" popular/useful in the old
days was its reference to a level of technology. We can still refer to
technological levels without being so ethnocentric (or wrong) by using sub-
sistence terms: industrialized, agricultural, horticultural, and foragers
(or H&Gs). The generic term non-industrialized also works, when one needs a
sweeping generalization. Just a suggestion. --Marsha
