elsewhere, I am posting a last reminder of a position at the
University of Georgia. jude

The University of Georgia Department of Social Science
Education in the School of Teacher Education announces a tenure-
track position at the assistant professor rank in the sociology
of education or social foundations of education with a
concentration in sociology of education. Responsibilities are to
teach undergraduate social foundations of education courses and
develop and teach graduate educational sociology and other
foundations of education courses; to conduct and publish research
in the sociology of education or social foundations of education;
to advise graduate students, direct graduate student research
using sociological methods, and serve on graduate students'
advisory or research committees; to participate in developing a
graduate program in social foundations of education; and to
engage in faculty governance activities. Qualifications are a
Ph.D. in sociology with an emphasis in the sociology of education
or doctorate in education with emphasis in either the sociology
of education or social foundations of education, degree to be
completed by September 1994; a record of publications appropriate
for a candidate who has completed doctoral work or the first
years as an assistant professor; and recommendations and other
documentation attesting to the candidate's teaching ability,
research and writing skills, and likelihood of achieving
promotion and tenure at a major research university. The starting
date is September 1994. The position offers a 9-month contract
with competitive salary and benefits with summer employment
