Right. Inherent in my "looking to" was the idea that people "look to"
particular aspects of historical events that *they* see as important,
real, or otherwise relevant to their contemporary agendas. Dependent on
ethics? Absolutely, in some cases. But not all differences in
historical perspectives grow from radically different value systems--all
it takes is a difference in contemporary perspective.
