I have a question for those who read and those who fill out grad school
applications in anthro or other disciplines. A standard line in any
application is the Statement of Purpose: why you want to do grad work in this
discipline. But I understand that some schools want specific information
relating to your purpose, like what experiences you've had that committed you
to anthropology, or what ideas may have turned you on or whatever. Do any
of your universities ask for these sorts of specific kinds of information
about you and your relation to the disicpline in their applications? I'd
appreciate as many specifics as you can give.
