For those on this list who are interested in AIDS issues, I would like to point
out that the American Anthropological Association has just published a 125-page
bibliography entitled THE AIDS BIBLIOGRAPHY: STUDIES FROM ANTHROPOLOGY AND
RELATED FIELDS. This volume, which contains well over 1,000 references to
articles, books, and papers by anthropologists, is testimony to the work of
dozens of anthropologists who are seriously engaged by this issue. The
bibliography was the first product of the AAA's new Commission on AIDS Research
and Education.Indeed, the AIDS & Anthropology Research Group has over
200 members currently. As co-editor of the bibliography, I would be grateful to
individuals on this list who come across AIDS publications by anthropologists
to call them to my attention for inclusion in future editions, i.e., especially
items published outside the U.S. which I might not locate otherwise. Thanks.
