shock...
i suspect you might find some interesting material in the peace
corps literature; or at least in the volunteer/missionary/applied
anthro literature.
a book was published by Brian Schwimmer and D. Michael Warren in
1993 by Iowa State Univ press called _Anthropology and the Peace
Corps; Case Studies in Career Preparation_. it may help you find
other, more relevant sources.
