research on racial equality councils

Dear all,
I have a student who is doing a dissertation based on fieldwork with a
racial equality council in the NE of England. While she is finding many
useful resources on race issues, the anthropology of race relations etc,
she hasn't come across any ethnographies set in racial equality councils
or other such activist organizations/offices. Any suggestions for
readings and/or people currently involved in this sort of research would
be most gratefully welcomed.
