I must admit that when I first heard that Robert Johnson was returning to
the list, I was less than excited. However, I felt that he deserved the
benefit of the doubt, and I hoped that perhaps his absence from the list had
allowed him to temper his postings somewhat. And while that seemed to be
the case for awhile, slowly but surely RJ has managed to place himself
once again in the spotlight of controversey and I believe that his
continued presence on the list is far more of a hindrance than an asset.
Suffering through his lenghthy diatribes is bad enough, now we are a
forum for his personal paranoid/delusional conspiracy theories that
revolve around his vendettas against those who are "out to get him."

I truly believe in freedom of speech, and accordingly I utilize
my delete key vigorously. I feel that RJ's posts however usually
overstep the boundary of what is acceptable and what is not. Every now
and then he posts something that does seem valuable, but these rare
contributions are overshadowed by frequent, lengthy ramblings.

I know that I am not alone in feeling this way, and I know that
there are those who will vigorously defend RJ. I guess the last posting
about UC Boulder and RJ's percieved enemies was the straw that broke the
camel's back for me. I believe that the content and frequency of RJ's
posts warrant stiffer action the merely using the delete key. I think the
list's integrity is at stake, and I think re-banning RJ should be seriously
considered.
