Knowing that my former professor Catherine Lutz conducted anthropological
work regarding
emotions among the Ifaluk (sp? ...in the South Pacific; can't recall the
island), i dug
up a coupla references to her work, and in addition found pointers to other
works; here's
what i found:

Anonymous
1986 _The Social construction of emotions._ Oxford: Blackwell Press.

Heider, Karl G.
1991 _Landscapes of emotion: mapping three cultures of emotion in Indonesia_
Cambridge: Cambridge University Press.

Lutz, Catherine
1985 Depression and the translation of emotional worlds. _Culture and
Depression: Studies in the Anthropology and Cross-Cultural Psychiatry
of Affect and Disorder._ Berkeley: Univ. Calif. Press, pp. 63-100.

1986 Emotion, thought, and estrangement: emotion as a cultural category.
_Cultural Anthropology_ 1(3):287-309.

1994 _Emotion and culture: empirical studies of mutual influence._
Washington, DC: American Psychological Association.
"Based on papers presented at the International Conference on Emotion
and Culture held at the University of Oregon in Eugene in June,
1992."

...in addition, you might try some on-line catalogs, under the subject
"Ethnopsychology". Hope this is what you were after...good luck!
