First Annual Midwest Bioarchaeology Conference

We are pleased to announce the First Annual Midwest Bioarchaeology Conference to
be held at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin in Madison, from Friday,
September 30 to Sunday, October 2, 1994. The local sponsor is Leslie E.
Eisenberg, PhD, Burial Sites Program Coordinator. The meeting format is
informal, with a welcoming reception scheduled for Friday evening (6:00-9:00
pm), contributed papers/posters on Saturday, and a business meeting Sunday
morning. The goal of the meeting is to provide an informal forum for human
osteologists, forensic anthropologists, and bioarchaeologists to present cases,
current research, and methodological advances in the field of skeletal biology,
although individuals from other closely related areas (odontology, pathology,
zooarcheology) are welcome.

The registration fee of $32.50, which includes meals (except for Saturday
night), must be received by Dr. Eisenberg NO LATER THAN September 10, 1994. The
one-day (Saturday only) fee is $15.00 Make checks payable to "State Historical

encouraged to attend. A slide projector, screen and pointer will be available,
although you should call ahead for special audiovisual needs. For further
