CALL FOR PAPERS ON THE SUBJECT OF COMMUNALISM

I am in the process of collecting proposals for papers to be included
in a book tentatively titled COMMUNALISM IN ANTHROPOLOGICAL
PERSPECTIVE. Communalism here is used in the broadest sense: it can
characterize a worldview of a people, a lifestyle, a behavior confined
to a specific domain or a specific purpose. Under what circumstances
do people employ communalism? Papers should combine rich ethnographic
detail with a strong theoretical context.

Deadline for receipt of two-page proposals is July 1, 1996. If your
proposal is accepted, first draft is due October 1, 1996.
