There's been discussion recently of what a listserve is good for.I
suggest that one tremendously useful use would be to recommend things
we've read that we think are really good. Nobody keeps up with everything
these days, and the glut is so overwhelming
that when we find a nugget
we ought to publicize it.

In this spirit, the latest issue of _American Scholar_ contains an article
called "Bourgeoise Virtue" by Donald McCloskey, whom you may know as the
author of _The Rhetoric of Economics_. Like the book the article is
marvelous. Highly recommended!!!!
