good, clear writing

If you want examples of good, clear writing in anthropology, take a look at
(practically) anything by R. Firth, F. Barth, and F.G. Bailey. They all combine
clarity of exposition and subtley of argumentation. (You might also look at
_Reading Ethnography_ which attempts to detail how anthropological, or at least
ethnographic, texts are constructed, to facilitate a critical reading of them.)
